Alila Fort Bishangarh is a heritage fortress lovingly restored & transformed into a luxury resort. The original fort is left intact, with much care given to ecological restoration and the reconstruction of new residential areas, to recreate the courtly flavour of Shahpura’s royalty. The grandeur is felt in its stark and inherent simplicity that has withstood the test of time through its fortification. Perhaps the only warrior fort that has been converted into a heritage resort, Alila Fort Bishangarh is a unique example of the Jaipur Gharana architecture influenced by both the Mughals and the British. The two-metre thick ancient walls around the fort have openings for firearms and turrets (known as burjs) as battlements. A completely new structure is created above and outside the old fort to house five different styles of royal suites and the lavish public areas.
Located at Bishangarh Village in the Jaipur District, barely 6 km off the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway, Alila Fort Bishangarh is easily accessible from both Delhi and Jaipur. It is 180 km (3 hours) from Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi while it is only 55 km (1 hour) from Jaipur Airport. The drive to Amber Fort at Jaipur is only 45 minutes away and Bishangarh is a good base to explore Jaipur’s innumerable tourist attractions.

Alila Diwa Goa takes great pains to minimise its environmental impact by using primarily local materials and working with the landscape to preserve indigenous ecosystems. The resort's aesthetic scheme reflects these efforts, blending effortlessly and gracefully into its natural setting. All materials used in building the hotel were sourced locally and an abundance of the region’s eco-friendly brick red laterite stone can be seen throughout the hotel.
GREEN INITIATIVES
Preservation and conservation of the local environment was of utmost importance right from the very beginning of the hotel's design with consideration given to keeping the existing forest trees intact and conserving the nearby rice paddy fields. This also makes the property a bird watcher’s paradise as a number of migratory and local birds nest here.
LOCAL COMMUNITY
Alila Diwa Goa has been committed to working with the local community. One of the community projects that has been established supports the Father Basilio Andrade Memorial Higher Secondary School in improving the condition of the school and its facilities. The hotel also actively supports the local community by providing employment and training: residents of the local community were invited to join the team and assist our guests with transportation requirements; and some ladies from the neighbourhood are employed at the Alila Diwa Goa cafeteria for team members' meal preparations. The hotel also helps to secure an area along the beachfront to be manned and maintained by the team in collaboration with the local village youth. In further efforts to encourage local talents, Alila Diwa Goa sponsored sports equipment for the local Youth Club in Majorda at the end of their annual 21-day football coaching camp.
